Engineer questions

What is the difference between NEMA 4X and NEMA 12?

NEMA 4X adds corrosion resistance and hosedown/washdown protection to the watertight NEMA 4 rating, which is why it is typically specified in stainless. NEMA 12 is an indoor rating protecting against dust, dirt, and dripping non-corrosive liquids — suitable for a clean plant floor but not for washdown or outdoor service.

Should I specify 304 or 316 stainless?

304 handles most indoor and general industrial environments. Choose 316 where chlorides are present — food and beverage washdown, water and wastewater treatment, coastal installations, or chemical exposure — because the added molybdenum resists pitting.

Can you build to my 3D model?

Yes. Upload STEP, IGS, SLDPRT, DWG, or DXF files through our RFQ portal. We review every model for manufacturability and flag anything that would affect cost, lead time, or the enclosure rating before you commit.

Do you build one-off enclosures or only production runs?

Both. We regularly build single first articles and prototypes, then transition the same documented process into repeatable production when the design is approved.
